Dear Savannah Brides…

First of all… CONGRATS on your engagement! 🍾✨ If you’re here, you’re already considering Savannah as a location for your special day. With its ethereal Spanish moss-cloaked oaks, historic charm, and hostess city reputation, I couldn’t think of a dreamier backdrop for a romantic wedding!

I know how overwhelming it can be to plan a wedding, so I couldn’t resist rounding up some of my recommendations and tips for getting married in Savannah!

outdoor ceremonies

Whitefield Square

Savannah’s been compared to “Stars Hollow” as its small community and historic architecture are reminiscent of characteristics from the popular show, Gilmore Girls. At the heart of Stars Hollow is its gazebo, and the gazebo in Whitefiled Square is Savannah’s equivalent!

This charming square houses a gazebo in the center, flat lawns for chair seating, and the square is surrounded by gorgeous Victorian homes with sprawling porches. If you want to capture Savannah’s small-town feel and storybook charm- we can’t recommend this square enough! It’s also tucked away from most tourist foot traffic but maintains its proximity to Forsyth Park.

lafayette square

One of the most fairytale-esque locations in all of Savannah is the Basillica of St. John the Baptist, peering over the corner of Lafayette Square. If you’re looking for an outdoor ceremony but want the grandeur of the basillica, this is your spot! The square is home to a musing fountain and plenty of lawn space for reception seats.

An added perk of this spot? Across the street from the basillica is Mirabelle. While the bottom floor boasts a yummy waffle and coffee spot, the two upstairs floors are home to an Airbnb! There’s plenty of space to host your bridal party for the night before the wedding and you can pop downstairs in the morning to get a waffle!

forsyth park

We’d be remiss to not include Forsyth Park on this list! It’s the largest park in the city, giving you more than enough room for your guests! The fountain at the north end of the park is a popular location, but the surrounding grassy lawns (tree covered on the north end and more open on the south) are swoon-worthy.

rehearsal dinner venues

We’ll always have a soft spot in our heart for VICI- our neighbors!! Words can’t describe how AMAZING the smells are that drift up from their kitchen into our studio space in the evening. If you’re looking for the perfect spot to settle in for dinner and a drink with your wedding party (or sip on brunch mimosas before getting ready for your wedding in our space)- VICI’s for you!!!

It’s conveniently located downtown, off of MLK Jr Blvd and has street parking as well as a shared parking lot across the street.

The vault kitchen & market

Boasting a menu that’s bound to please every picky eater in your party while still maintaining its high quality and good vibes, the Vault is a great pick for a rehearsal dinner venue! The building used to be a bank (the name makes sense now, huh?) and the large vault is now a room that’s available to be booked by private parties! Or for a larger party, we’d recommend making reservations for the attached greenhouse room- lined with large windows and greenery!

This spot is located in the Starland district of Savannah- full of arts and inspiration! If you’re worried about parking, there’s an adjacent parking lot and ample street parking if need be!

The public kitchen & bar

Looking for a moody spot near downtown? The Public Kitchen & Bar is nestled into the corner of Liberty and Bull, local to plenty of nearby hotels and bars. With tables both outside and indoors, you can enjoy the nightlife energy of Savannah without the chaos of being on River Street. If you’re looking for a drink afterwards, we recommend checking out the Artillery located right next door!

We’re not going to say this isn’t a shameless plug 🤭 But seriously! Our space is infused with creative energy, helping make the moments before the altar playful, supportive, and unforgettable.

Pamper yourself and spread out in our upstairs space that’s showered in natural light and home to our largest studios and common spaces. You’ll have exclusive access to all four of our studios so you can capture the little details that won’t go unnoticed and some group shots in different styled sets!

While we’ll provide complimentary champagne, we’re also located just above VICI Rooftop so your bridal party can sip, snack, and chat nearby! (Our outdoor balcony actually overlooks VICI’s gorgeous space.)
